Mewi — The Strays of the Harbour
Autonomous agents with emergent social behaviour — stray cats wandering docks, boats, and the edges of a coastal fishing village.
About the Project
Mewi is a game about the kinds of connection that time shapes and eventually separates. You encounter stray cats in a fishing village — on the docks, near the boats, along the water’s edge. Each one has its own temperament — some cautious, some bold, some that make you work for it. You try to earn their trust, not through commands or mechanics, but through how you show up: your patience, your consistency, your presence. The bond, when it comes, feels real. And then life moves. You get busy. You stop coming around. When you return, the closeness is already gone — no goodbye, just the quiet gap time leaves behind. That’s the whole game. It’s not about cats.

Research Questions
We are exploring new possible interaction of HCI. We are working on how to achieve our stray cat agent with knowledge of behavior tree/ robotics/ RL and LLM.
